WHAT I NEED...
is a fair sized and clear photograph. The better the photograph, the better the portrait. Remember: the photograph is the ONLY way I have to know your subject. Please tell me the correct color of eyes and hair and any other relevant details which are important and not necessarily obvious from the photograph. The more information I have – the better. Additional photos are useful, but not necessary. Photos will be returned with the finished art.
The minimum size of image to be drawn should be no less than 3 by 4 inches and the sharper the better, in order to get enough detail.
You can also send me a photo by email. This should be in standard compressed format and can be .gif, .tif, or .jpg.
A high quality, acid-free archival paper is used for your portrait.
PRICING
Sizes are 8" x 10" and 11" x 14" so you can use standard frames. If you need a larger size,we can discuss what will work best for you. Multiple subjects from different photos can also be combined into one finished drawing.
8" x 10" - $90 for one subject, $150 for two subjects
11" x 14" - $120 for one subject, $200 for two subjects
The same prices apply for either people or pets, and depend on the size of the drawing, the number of subjects per drawing, and how much work is involved. If you have more subjects, email sizes and the number of subjects you wish in your portrait and I can give you a price.
A fixative spray is applied to help protect the artwork. A matte is supplied for protection only, but framing is not included.
A 50% deposit is required to start the portrait. Once begun, the deposit is non-refundable. Balance is due upon completion of work. Please make checks payable to Melanie MacArthur. Or pay via PayPal:

RECEIVING YOUR PORTRAIT
A standard portrait usually takes 1-2 weeks to complete. I will then mail your portrait to you through US mail.
Please provide a viable mailing address. Extra charges may apply to mail outside the United States. Email me if you need special arrangements. If you are nearby, I may also be able to deliver your portrait.
